Dialog seed corn -- stashing this for myself for later, in case I find a place to plant it.

I kinda really want to make a character that can summon a personal avatar....

But it's mostly because I want an excuse to make Jojo's references.

Actually, yeah, you have to keep wanting, but I thought this would interest at least some of you.

Djinn and efreet that were once humans, then changed into either djinn or efreet by a higher power. Now those that are djinn guard knowledge of how to combat those powers for fear of humans that might abuse it; they might also fear that agents of those higher powers would seek to destroy the knowledge. Effectively, the djinn are stuck in their own heads.

Efreet could be the exact opposite - willing to use their power in an attempt to enjoy the worldly pleasures that eluded them before they were chosen by the higher powers. Or, extremely militant in pleasing the higher powers because they enjoy being efreets.

Brainfarts I had while thinking about Tarkir.

Dunno if I'll ever find a place for it, but someone should:

Viking Werewolves

I would point out that Aralheim exists, but I've yet to write a story that taps into 'common' Ulfr...

Or to revise "Where Angels Fear to Tread" for that matter.

And I should really see to getting at least one of the stories on my plate cleared before November and NaNoWriMo for which I have plans.

... can I get an extension on Halloween?

Only to Dia de los Muertos, which is hardly anything at all.

I only just saw this in a video game, and I really don't think I could pull it off, but: a pimp imp.

My first thought, of course, was to have such a character meet Tryst.

Functional lycanthropy - a people, perhaps living in a cold clime, taking on lycanthropy as a means of surviving.

Goblins mucking around in a desert with fire and chaos magic. Shortly after that, after the goblins have long gone after some other frivolity, the first protohumans emerge from the area where the goblins were playing with fire and chaos.

A lot could be done with arctic merfolk. If the landmasses are really just floating bergs and ice sheets, the merfolk could pop up anywhere around you. If they had the magic to turn ice into water, then they could pop out of the glacial wall above your head. If we're talking continental ice sheets, then they could have huge tunnel networks beneath your feet. They could be the settings drow.

Here's a spin on gods creating mortals:

A God: "There are turns of the mind that send a shiver down my divine spine. Rather than hide from it, I let it loose. You see it before you, in these primitive life forms."

There's that old myth about a fish turning into a dragon. They used it for Magikarp into Gyarados.

What if merfolk were the first of the dragons, rather than your viashino or lizardfolk of choice? You could have merfolk clashing with viashino over something related to their draconic heritage.

Just had this really striking visual stuck in my head, but a flat world with a giant tree which is orbited by the world's moon. The sun functions normally.

The moon orbits the tree? That's a good way to make a world tree important. Those things always feel like add-ons.

Chasing up on this, another idea, the worldtree in question is the physical manifestation of the worldsoul, and it's actually an active participant in the affairs of... uhh... itself.
I just really liked the idea that a worldsoul declared itself king of itself.

I'm kind of thinking of stealing this for my non-M:EM project. Except there are 13 moons and they come right up into the boughs of the tree sometimes. Kind of combine your imagery with the Chinese story of the Archer and the Sun.

I'd really like to see a former planeswalker vampire.

"Former"?

Vampirism normally implies a bit of death.

Just to be sure, this is okay with you?
