Bonus fun of Afterparty tourneys: you get to run more creative decks. Last time, the Xbox Finals were Geistramp vs. Enchantments. You don't need to go with the Spike-iest possible deck.

Magic's a simple game, 2 people take turns playing cards and in the end Divinevert wins 2-0...

Oh, that deck is a barrel of laughs.
My backside's still sore from the hiding I took with it...

Sorry guys
I felt the need to play a (I think) good deck after running such garbage in the showdown

There are obviously ways to beat Superfriends. I mean, it's a completely dead archetype without sideboards.

I wouldn't say completely dead without sideboard. But not tier 1 anymore for sure, cant make the RG or WG vehicles matchup good enough without sideboards without hurting the deck versus everything else

I watched your POV and game 2 I got wrecked by those sideboarded declarations. Muliganing to 6 didn't help, but game 1 was much more ballanced... If I'd drawn some threats earlier (and played better), I could have stood a chance...

Superfriends is a dead archetype. I've played against it on the ladder 6 times this season. Last season, I'd hit that number before I hit 15 games, if that many. Where Superfriends can be found regularly is 2HG, since it is a slower format and it has the time to develop.

Really, this just proves the regular tournament shouldn't have sideboards.

I play against superfriends in randoms all the time actually (though normally 3 color and not 4) and I usually win...
I guess some people just love their PWs too much to not play with 'em.

clearly the harder to answer threats are planeswalkers in duels. pretty much anything else can be dealt with sideboarding.

-- the reason i bring a walkers control deck too to this event. looks like joly feels the same.

Yeah, that's why I'll be putting 4 universal solvents in any post Aether revolt sideboard tournaments. Lol

OK, thanks. I have it posted on twitter and I'll be getting the next round up as soon as I get home in a few hours (and I figure out who won between you and Giocher).

Just played vs Joly

Spoiler

I still feel Dimir control is basically unplayable bc of its inability to effectively answer planeswalkers, enchantments and artifacts. The lack of exile hurts too vs the Scrapheap Scroungers of the world. That's just too many weaknesses to overcome. If it were just one of those.. ok sure.. but ALL of those. It's just too much.

Can we stop with the bullsh!t about how the tourneys are designed for the sole purpose of showing the best deck for the ladder? Because that's stupid and it leads to much more boring content.

I think Kryder has a point. He sounds intelligent and I think he is making a ton of sense.

Also, i can't believe it took you this long to go off on that, lol. As soon as he wrote that and one day later Gem wrote, "Easy.", i was thinking "oh boy, Vert is gonna go off his rails!"

xoxoxo
