This is the thread for suggesting reprints for Starstill.

Dehydration or something should be reprinted in this set. That's a fantastic example of a blue card with plausible "sunny" flavor.

Also, I was thinking Cloud Key.

And of course we have to decide whether Tarmogoyf is in or not.

I like Dehydration.
Ice Cage

I'm thinking maybe we could have two dragons, one red and one blue... OOOOOOOOOH thought for my mythic rare...

Ancient Ziggurat

The other uncommon land could be the mirror image of Ancient Ziggurat (i.e. the same except for noncreature spells).

I think noncreature is too general for that, I could get behind non-permanent spells, that would better mirror Ancient Ziggurat.

Surreal Memoir could be good if we decide to bring back Rebound. (Which I personally think we probably should.)

Semblance Anvil if we do imprint.
Some of the Seal of__ cycle. We can mix and match old and new seals too.
Cataclysm - probably too good at blowing up lands for modern MTG.
Guided Passage
Counterlash
Mesa Enchantress
Envelop and Dispel to I guess.
Might of the Masses
Arcane Melee

I just realized that Centaur Omenreader would be perfect for this set if we end up doing Snow.

We could even make it a loose cycle

If either or both of the Desert cards I just posted (Sand Serpent and Sand Spewer) win, I'm going to add Desert to the spoiler.

I actually like desert here a lot. Deserts and relics both give a vibe of hardship and diminishing resources.

I feel that Kiln Fiend would be a perfect reprint: fits Illpyre and type matters.

Atog and co. are contenders to show up.
Edit- Okay, I actually read the card and that would be insane. Maybe Auratog or something. Togs of various stripes could make a (re)appearance.

Please vote Yay, Nay, or Abstain for each card. All cards with more Yays than Nays will be added to the set.

Reprint Ethereal Armor.

Ethereal Armor
Enchantment — Aura
Enchant creature
Enchanted creature gets +1/+1 for each enchantment you control and has first strike.
Metal is scarce, smiths are pricey, and plate mail is heavy.

Reprint Indomitable Will.

New Flavor text: The stars are unchanging, so too I am.

Instant (U)
Reveal the top five cards of your library and separate them into two piles. An opponent chooses one of those piles. Put a card from the chosen pile into your hand, then put all other cards revealed this way on the bottom of your library in any order.

Reprint Tortured Existence.

Tortured Existence
Enchantment (C)
, Discard a creature card: Return target creature card from your graveyard to your hand.
"There are terrors lurking in the unseen corners of us all."—Crovax

(Flavor text would be reworked once we've established some block characters. The baddest-ass black legendary we make would likely have a similar-toned statement as Crovax's above).

Mown wrote:
Reprint Cremate, I suppose.

Reprint Songs of the Damned

Songs of the Damned
Instant (C)
Add to your mana pool for each creature card in your graveyard.
Not wind, but the breath of the dead.

Could we somehow reprint Obsidian Fireheart as a rare

Reprint Steam Blast maybe? With new art for flavor reasons?

Those of Illpyre have learned that everything should be put to use, especially the possessions of the dead.

A color-shifted version of Sadistic Glee.

Of course we have to decide whether Tarmogoyf is in or not.

Also, I was thinking Cloud Key.

Etherial Armor Don't care, but it feels a little strong
Indomitable Will Yay - I think the flavor can work
Dehydration Nay - Should be ice flavored
Fact of Fiction Don't care
Truth or Tale Don't care
Tortured Existence Nay - Leads to repetitive gameplay
Cremate Yay - Just because I think it's an elegant cantrip and black seemingly likes instants, and the flavor could work well
Songs of the Damned Nay - Just because I'm wary of rituals and we don't have a real graveyard emphasis
Obsidian Fireheart Don't care
Steam Blast Don't care
Borderland Ranger Yay - Perfect
