Also can we make Relics actually do something instead of just sitting there?

Yeah, Relics don't do much. Hopefully our remaining colourless slots can do something about that.
I'm split on having a shared identity (beyond flavour obviously) for enchantment creatures. Not really sure whether it's a good idea or whether it's doable at this point. Also it will necessitate a ton of enchantment removal.

OK dudes so bear with me here

There's like little reason for Green to interact with any of the other colors, both mechanically and flavorfully
It doesn't like spells or artifacts
And we didn't get it to care that much about enchantments either
So it's having a bit of an identity crisis
And one of the things people hate in Magic is mana screw and mana flood
That's why Hearthstone was designed to simply not have it
But what if Maraka's twist was:

Song Dryad
Creature – Dryad (C)
You may play this creature transformed as a land drop.
/\\/
Soul Tree
Land – Forest

And just have mad creatures able to turn into Soultrees

so that you can play Hearthstone style if you want
But only in Mono-G
Which makes sense because if there's any color that would get the Dakkon Blackblade vanguard ability, it'd be .

And then we a) give green something mad eye catchy to do mechanically b) give Maraka way more flavor (druids that can shapeshift into trees? cmon how legit is that) and c) give green an identity when it doesn't have much to do in the story.

I think that idea would be better served in its own set and not Starstill. To me, it feels like the focus of the set is drifting. Let's go back to "card types matter" and explore what that means from a design and development standpoint.

Maybe you could have the land be the front face

Land
~ enters the battlefield tapped.
When ~ enters the battlefield, you may pay g. If you do, transform and untap it.
t: Add g to your mana pool.

Not a fan of the land transformers. Agree that we have to stay focused on the set's main theme. For green that means doubling down on a creatures matter theme and playing up enchantments and mastery (and lands a bit,but green always does that).

I made a table of the overlaps between card types and colours as I see them. * means it's a theme in that colour, ** means its a major focus and ? means I'm not too sure.

| White| Blue| Black| Red| Green
Artifact|
*
|
**
|
?
|
*
|
Enchantment|
*
| |
*
| |
*

Ins/Sorc | |
**
| |
**
|
Creature |
?
| | |
*
|
**

Mastery |
*
| |
**

*

How are we lining up with this so far?

I'd like to reiterate my proposal to redesign the set from the bottom up as a faction-based environment where you're encouraged to go deep on one card type. Starstill badly needs direction and community investment if we ever want it to get off the ground. Factions would accomplish that.

I kind of liked where starstill was going although i wasn't involved in it.

I don't really get why you guys stopped making cards.

If you replace all the Relics in Starstill with Clues, the set becomes approximately 40% cooler.

Yeah, the relics were pretty useless.

I just looked through and only a few get a huge bump in power level if they make clues.

And it fits the flavor, too! Y'know, cuz Aloise is looking for clues on how to raise the moon, or whatever.
