This is a very interesting deck. I admire the color discipline - no double Red spells, not even Chandra. I do wonder about the 2.5 to 1 ratio of Madness enablers to Madness cards however. I think I'd rather replace four of the catalogs or epiphany with Read the Bones and have my card draw actually put me a card up. Radiant Flames does not have synergy with Brain in a Jar, but is good enough in a three color deck that I'd like to include it. It does busted things with Kalitas in play, among other things. Westvale Abbey also seems very aggressive for a three-color deck.

Perhaps -4 Catalog, +4 Read the Bones, -1 Lightning Axe, -3 Artificer's Epiphany, +2 Radiant Flames, +2 Oath of Jace, -2 Westvale Abbey, +2 Wandering Fumarole? Draw 3 discard 2 seems better to me than draw 2 discard 1, even if it does not help with Thing in the Ice or Rise from the Tides. Adding two more Red sources may also be enough to justify replacing one of the Fall of the Titans with Chandra Flamecaller, who would add a more versatile winning condition and another sweeper.

Deck looks sweet though!

Thanks for the feedback! I tried out your suggestions, which I found favorable for the most part. I'm not sure about a full four Read the Bones because the life loss became a steep price to pay in a couple of games against aggressive decks. I might swap two out for two Artificer's Epiphany. Oath of Jace really impressed me though, what with four planeswalkers now I ended up scrying a lot more often.

Hey, welcome to the site! Some guys here will give you some tips on how to post decks. Timh's suggestion is good. Quote an existing post and you can see how people are doing it.

Paging WINTERVOID to the thread! His build reminds me a bit of your awesome Inevitability deck. Can you give him some pointers ?

Paging HAKEEM to the thread! As a lover and lifelong disciple of Grixis, want to help our newest member out?

If you quote someone's post, you can see the formatting that they used. Anytime you see someone do something, just quote them to find out how they did it. :)

@Steely Danno

Very cool. Testing only on AI so far.

I put 2x Reckless Scholar. Seems a natural fit for madness. Once he's on the board you are enabling madness at no extra cost. Severely pumps the combo with Under the Floorboards.

@randomname's
I adopted some of suggestions. Kept both Westvale Abbey's. Easy to flip with zombie flood.

GRIXIS BRAIN IN A JAR v2
2 x Fall of the Titans
2 x Lightning Axe
2 x Avacyn's Judgment
2 x Languish
2 x Oblivion Strike

2 x Oath of Jace
1 x Catalog
2 x Read the Bones
2 x Pore Over The Pages
2 x Nagging Thoughts
2 x Radiant Flames

2 x Brain in a Jar

1 x Jace, Vryn's Prodigy
2 x Reckless Scholar
2 x Thing in the Ice
1 x Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet
1 x Jace, Unraveler of Secrets
1 x Ob Nixilis Reignited
2 x Rise from the Tides
2 x From Under the Floorboards

5 x Island
3 x Swamp
2 x Mountain
2 x Smoldering Marsh
2 x Sunken Hollow
2 x Westvale Abbey
2 x Drowned Catacomb
2 x Sulfur Falls
2 x Dragonskull Summit
3 x Evolving Wilds

Alrighty, I still haven't finished unlocking KLD yet, but I wanted to brew a bit and was wondering what people think of my latest attempt at Grixis (AKA the shard of Hell) after my attempts at Grixis control/burn at the end of EMN.

Hell-i-copters
Creatures - (10)
4 x Insolent Neonate
4 x Thermo-Alchemist
1 x Combustible Gearhulk
1 x Bedlam Reveler

---------------------------------
Instants - (13)
3 x Lightning Axe
3 x Telling Time
4 x Fiery Temper
3 x Glimmer of Genius

---------------------------------
Sorceries - (10)
4 x Alms of the Vein
2 x Radiant Flames
2 x Exquisite Firecraft
2 x Collective Defiance

---------------------------------
Artifacts - (3)
2 x Smuggler's Copter
1 x Skysovereign, Consul Flagship

---------------------------------
Enchantments - (2)
2 x Aether Meltdown

---------------------------------
Lands - (22)
1 x Island
1 x Swamp
4 x Mountain
2 x Wandering Fumarole
2 x Smoldering Marsh
1 x Sunken Hollow
1 x Drowned Catacomb
2 x Sulfur Falls
2 x Dragonskull Summit
2 x Aether Hub
4 x Evolving Wilds

Now, this is far from perfect (and as I said I haven't unlocked all the cards yet) and I am looking for ideas to improve.

One thing I have noticed is that I feel Skysovereign is underperforming due to my lack of creatures with the ability to pilot it. Unless I somehow have several Neonates, a piloted Copter, or a manned Fumarole I can't get it into the air. The burn ability is godly in this deck though for removal and I really wish I could make it work a bit more reliably. As it is I am considering dumping it for Torrential Gearhulk once I unlock it. If anyone else has a better suggestion, I'm all ears.

EDIT: I am also looking at ways of fitting in Unlicensed Disintegration because...ZOMG SUCH REMOVAL SO GOOD

1x Chandra, Torch of Defiance
1x Jace, Unraveler of Secrets
1x Ob Nixilis Reignited
1x Chandra, Flamecaller

Artifacts(2):
2x Dynavolt Tower

Oh my god dude, that deck has such a rough mana curve. Am I crazy or is that ?

I'd find a way to reduce your doublecosted colors to 2 (gearhulks being the obvious exception). Languish, Confiscation Coup, and Mirrorwing Dragon are probably a few of my early picks to drop for some easier-to-cast choices (though I would only drop 1 or 2 of those, not all 3).

I don't know your list; depends on how control-ish your list plays out.
In Grixis Control I'd keep this easily, in my Grixis Thopters I'd easily ship it (then again, my list doesn't run Glimmer, so it's likely more aggressive). My instinct would tell me to mulligan as Thopters should be more of a mid-range strategy and less full-on control.

Ironically I drew my control cards for the next few draws in the beginning afterwards and it helped that my opponent had a slow start, but yeah generally you want to have some stuff on the board by Turn 3.
