For balance purposes, the first one can be compared to Nivmagius Elemental; having said that, Shrine of Mystery does effectively allow you to pay 2 to save a would-be countered creature spell for later at the expense of missing etb effects and additional mana. Neat design nonetheless.

Yeah, Shrine's pretty cool, but it might be too good. If the mana cost changed or it required you to exile a card from your hand, it would be alright. Not sure what the best mana cost would be. Too high and the card's value plummets, so I wouldn't go over 3. Maybe two mana of different colors?

Probably ...

Shrine of Mystery
Land
: Add .
, : Manifest target spell you control. (Put it onto the battlefield face down as a 2/2 creature. Turn it face up any time for its mana cost if it's a creature card.)

Probably shouldn't produce colored mana.

I think it is funny that it is called "mystery" but it only works on things that are already in a public zone so there is no way to not have your opponents know what the card is.

The Steam Turbine untaps itself and gives you the mana back so you can activate it as much as you want to turn any amount of mana R or U as long as you are willing to move the card around enough.

I named it after trail of mystery, but I noticed that. I suppose you could hope people forget which face down thing is which.

The joke is that it rotates infinitely :p.

Steam Turbine is basically a more convoluted version of Manaforge Cinder. Now if it doubled the cost as follows:

, : Add . Flip it and untap it
--/FLIP/--
, : Add . Flip it and untap it.

Then it would create a nifty infinite mana combo with Power Artifact (frankly though there are more sinister things to do in Legacy and possibly Commander anyhow).

Enchant the turbine with Dawn's Reflection or the like, and it goes infinite.

Yeah, that too. In general, it's good design not to have a single card that can do something infinitely, even if it does effectively nothing on its own.

It's a joke card for the most part. Turbines rotate. This just rotates :D

You could get the basic effect with...

xyz
Artifact
, : Add or .

All too true.

As a fan of Snow Mercy, I can't complain.
Snow Mercy isn't in gatherer (they do their best to make worse and worse don't they?) so just use this link https://scryfall.com/card/hho/10/snow-mercy
